5 MONTHS~

Yes, today my little cutie pie is 5 months old.!!!He's getting to be such a big boy! I realized this yesterday when he was playing on his blanket with his toys. I know that might sound incredibly simple but, just the fact that he was playing with toys is a big deal. A week ago he couldn't even hold a toy and now he seeks them out. Although his little noggin is too big for him to crawl he rolls around and tries to get onto his knees. Plus, he is possibly the most genuinely happy person that I have ever met. He smiles in his sleep, it's true. I can only take credit for a normal amount of happiness (taking care of him, playing with him, giving him cuddles) the rest is all Taylor. He's just so smiley. He smiles with his whole self and it's infectious!!!!!!!!!!

I finished two LO's yesterday. The Dare was really hard for me. I have noticed that there is a real lack of color in my gallery and I am not that good at saying nice things about myself. I know scrapping yourself is important but, it kind of made me feel full of myself. KWIM????

He was dancing to the music and flirting with the 1 girl that we aren't related to. What can I say? My kid is a little Mack Daddy! LOL!

It has been way HOT here the last few days! Sleeping is pretty much a no go. Even the babies are having trouble sleeping! The weatherman says that it should be cooling off today, we shall see.

I have managed to get a little bit of scrapping done lately, which is nice. I have had so many dealines lately that scrapping for me really hit the spot! (blogger won't let me post pics)

Thanks to my husband we had a water fight at his parent's house yesterday. It was just the thing to cool off and it was sooooo much fun. Just don't tell my DH! LOL!

I managed to get 2 1/2 layouts done yesterday and 5 cards. I'm still in the planning phase for a few of my classes and always on the lookout to create new card designs.

Although I have a ton of scrap projects on my plate right now. I took the day to play and do some LO's for me. Just for fun!!! And it felt so amazing. I can't even tell you how good it felt. The best part is now I have all of this creative energy. I guess that is a lesson for me. Letting go a little is a GOOD thing! There you have it people. Maybe let you a little yourselves today. You just never know where it might take you.

Friday all day long~

It's Friday! Since DH has been home the days have started to blend together. I however have a blissful day to myself. DH took the kids to his Mom's for the day. It gave me the chance to do my LO for the Ali Edwards Patterned Paper Challenge on 2Peas. Love it!

I am out of printer ink right now. Which seems to be a good thing. It's forcing me to use the older pics that I have yet to scrap. I no longer scrap in chronological order, so some things get overlooked. Anywho, I have projects to finish and I am happy to do them with out interruption!

~Stuff~

The guy I spoke to at CK was super nice and they offered to replace my book. I appreciated the great service! I have several suggestion from people on what I should do with my tattered copy. Thanks for all of the great suggestions. I have decided to donate it!

I have been crazy busy lately and I hate that. I feel like I am missing so much. I have been trying to take more pictures with the digi so that I can catch all of those little moments that will otherwise be completely lost. So, I think this is the perfect place to share a few of those pictures.

A little layout I did last week and forgot to post. I have been getting a little scrapping done lately. Mostly things that I need to complete for some deadline or anther. I spent a good part of yesterday finishing a circle journal for a recipe group I am in. It turned out cuter then I thought it would.

So, I finally get my New Ali book from CK yesterday and this is the condition that it's in! It looks like it's been run over or something. Completely thrashed! I am so disappointed. I waited forever for it and now this. I will never order from CK again!

Sweet Sunday Morning!

This is a great way to start your day!
Riley woke up before I did and clearly wanted out of his crib. Now it's coffee and web surfing in the living room for Me and cheerios and milk for Riley. He's watching OPB and everyone is speaking Spanish. I am not sure that he's really watching it. I think he just likes the fact that he can turn it on and off. And in the grand tradition of his family, Riley is obsessed with the remote control. Now they are singing in Spanish and he's kinda diggin' it. I guess music really is universal! What a cool little dude I have!






I had a scrapbooking epiphany while I was sleeping. Some really awesome ideas floating around in my brain. I hope I will be able to
remember them or the even harder part. Translate them to an actual page. I feel re-energized and that'd awesome. For too long I have felt a little tired and unmotivated. We shall see what the day brings us. We will be hanging around the apartment again today. Andy still can't walk very well, so going anywhere is completely out of the question. I think he is really gonna go stir crazy though. I'm not sure he has spent 3 whole days in the apartment in the 3 years that we have lived here. Which reminds me that our anniversary is coming up as well as his birthday. Last year I had a huge surprise party for him. This year I think we'll probably go a little more low key. Family and BBQ and presents. My August is really starting to fill up. All of my weekends are booked and I am starting on the weekdays. Still it's good to stay busy! Andy should be back to work by then and our lives can go back to somewhat normal. Whatever that is! LOL! Well I think I have rambled long enough. Although it felt really good! All is well!

First of a big thank you for all of the prayers, love, support, good wishes and everything. Andy's knee surgery was a success. He is recovering on the couch. Looks like he might be there for a few days. He's been well stocked up with movies, books, and snacks.

Today was my first class. It was a success! I'll share pictures with you tomorrow. There weren't as many people in attendance as I had hoped but, I think it was a perfect start. They made altered frames. It was amazing watching them work, seeing their finished product! I mean they all had the same basic supplies and yet their finished products were so completely different. Each and every one of them took the project and really made it theirs. I love that. Love the creative flow. Watching the process. Watching people loving what they are creating! So amazing and inspirational.

Organization

So what is my best scrap space organization tip?

Probably to clean up after each project. I have a very small space. Actually it's our tiny dining room. It's completely been taken over by my scrapbook stuff. So it's super easy for it to get out of control messy! Which I don't want because there are no door to close to hide the mess. There is also the Riley factor. He is always trying to get into my stuff. So, yes I find that life in my scrapbooking world is neater and more productive if I clean up after each project.

Riley is 20 months old today! Growing so fast and getting so big and independent. I swear it's like I blink and he's a different person. I guess that is what's suppose to happen.
Anyway, lots to do today. I will leave you with a few pictures!

Summer Lovin'

Two Peas Challenge is all about your favorite BBQ~

To know our family is to know that my husband is absolutely 100% obsessed with BBQing. When we were dating he made me a BBQ'd waffle. Yes it was pretty disgusting but, also funny. I think in his mind if it isn't BBQ'd it isn't cooked. To his credit he is getting really good at it. He makes the tastiest teriyaki chicken kabobs and his grilled veggies make my mouth water. Of course that is truly as close to veggies as he gets. All of this food talk is making me hungry. I think I know what to have for dinner tonight!

Spent most of yesterday and going to spend today preparing for my class on Saturday. I am sure that I am spending way too much time thinking about it. However, it is my first class and I want it to go well! So I am gonna cross my fingers and see where it takes me!

Saturday Stuff

2 Peas Blogger Challenge: what scrapbooking supply do you find yourself using on almost every LO? (mine is ribbon!) :

I find that I can not create an LO without ink. Weither I am inking the edges of something or actually using a stamp. I LOVE ME Some Ink!!!!! OF course there are countless other products that I adore, even drool over but, If we are talking consistency then it's gotta be ink.

Yesterday was a good day! Love when I can say that. Went to the Stampin' Up open house and I was by myself (my Mom got really sick and couldn't go). This is huge for me. Usually I get all weird having to go somewhere by myself. I only knew my demo and she was super busy but, I enjoyed seeing all of the displays and playing games. I tried a couple of times to start conversations with people but, they just looked at me like I had two heads or didn't even look at me at all. Oh well. I did win a prize in the "cake walk". So it was all good. Although I must admit that when my number was called for the cake walk I almost didn't want to claim my prize. I had a return of the shy, wallflower me. I quickly pushed her away and claimed my pack of beautifully embellished cards! I was naughty and ordered a few things out of the new catalog. a pack of gorgeous paper and some background stamps (I'll share them with you when they get to me). I felt like I owed it to my Demo (the sweetest woman even) to purchase something. She is new and didn't have any of her other customers attend.


I also went to Michael's and scored some loveliness at their $1 spot. If you haven't been lately you should check it out. I was amazed at what they had! I'll edit with pics later.

We got home and I had MAIL! Love when a package comes in the mail!. It was my first Memory Works order! It came really quickly. I ordered it after hours on Monday, Tuesday was a holiday, my order was processes Wednesday and at my door on Saturday. Too Cool! I ordered some business supplies (catalogs, order forms) and some We R Memory Keepers paper packs (hostess gifts) some Heidi Swapp distressers (goodie bags) and some some HS stamps (too cute). I feel very spoiled as I recount my loot. Although the MW stuff is business and the SU stuff I was doing a good thing(wink,wink). The M's stuff was just too lovely too pass up plus I will use them in my RAK's! Oh, and I got my August issue of CK! This is a good issue folks. If you haven't gotten yours yet I think you will love it. AE has a cool article (yes, I do think all of her work is fab) but this one is really interesting, trust me!
Ok, I am Out. I have a million and 1 things to do today. Oh, I almost forgot. I made this LO last night for a CJ. Have a fab day people!

Saturday Morning~

It is really starting to warm up outside. This post will have to be short. I must get ready. I have a Stampin' Up Open house to go to this morning. I am pretty excited about it. Should be fun and it's free so I thought I'd check it out. You just never know who you are going to meet at one of these things. KWIM?
The baby had a rough night. Poor little dude has COLD, that he got from his big brother stealing his bottle, taking a drink, and then giving it back. He sounds terrible. He really is so sweet about it though. He is laying down and coughing, when I lean over and check that he is ok and going to stop coughing he just smiles at me. He has a DR. On Monday, so if the cold isn't gone I can tell the DR.
It is going to be beautiful here today. Clear sky, and already warming up. I am tired and wish that I could pep up. Luck for my that I have a BIG cup of coffee to help me in my pursuit of pep. Anyway, I hope everyone has a great day. I am out!~

New Blog

Yesterday afternoon I was feeling a little better and a lot bored. I have several projects on my plate right now so I thought I would work on one of them. Writing my newsletter. The actual writing part didn't take long. Unfortunately, nothing is ever as easy as it seems. Then came the tweaking. Everything I know about computers I have pretty much taught myself. And apparentlty it's not much. LOL! My file was too big to upload to my web site. No matter how I tried to make it smaller it just wouldn't work. So, I thought to myself, how about a newsletter blog. Easy to maintain, easy to navigate, and I can easily add pictures of layouts or whatever I need. So I am unveiling my new Always Scrappin' New;sletter Blog Scrap Happenings www.alwaysscrappin.blogspot.com . There I will be able to communicate information about product, sales, workshops, fun ideas, anything. So much less stressful! And that is something I think we could all use less of, stress.~

Sick & Tired

The boys and I are sick. I think it might be a cold. Whatever it is we feel like crap. It's hard enough functioning when you feel sick, add having to take care of two little sick ones when you can barely function is no good. I feel like doing nothing. Like just sitting here typing is what I am going to accomplish today. It's sad and it's hard for me to cut myself some slack because I am sick. I feel lazy sleeping in the middle of the day, when I know that there are things I should be doing. My head feels like it's gonna explode. Need an advil~

Holiday Magic!!!

Sunday blogger challenge is all about holidays~

I love holidays. I am just a holiday person. My favorite is Halloween. I love to decorate my Nana's house and make special treats (caramel apples). Take what ever kids are available and willing trick or treating. I just love the whole nine yards. It just feels like magic. Like when I was a kid.

We have different traditions for different holidays. Christmas is obviously choked full of special things. Easter always has ham dinner. Fourth of July has been different things because Nana's b-day is on the 3rd. Lately we have been going to see a fire works display. When I was a kid Mom would buy the fireworks and light them off for the whole neighborhood. Labor day was spent celebrating Mom's birthday. Valentines day my parent's always bought a little box of chocolates for each of us kids.

I want my kids to have those same kinds of holiday memories. I plan on carrying on some of those awesome traditions that made life so magical.

Bad Habits~

Blogger challenge is on bad habits.
Probably the worst thing I have been doing lately is overcommiting myself. I am terrible at telling people no. I end up overbooking myself and then I get stretched way thin. It can be tricky when balancing family, family, and starting a business. Throw in all of the other things that always seem to come my way and it can get complicated. I do it to myself. I will admit it. I need to learn how to say "No" or "I am busy". Someday maybe I will get there but, probably not today. So, for now I will just keep on, keepin' on. Now where did I put my coffee cup?

Bloggin'

I am a lucky girl! I got to host the blogger challenge on 2Peas for today. I am filling in for the girl who normally does it. She does a fabulous job! I hope everyone likes the prompt.

I asked why they blog. What got them started? Have they considered doing a layout about what bloggin' means to them.

I have kept a journal for as long as I can remember. In fact I can hardly pass blank books in a store without stopping. They call to me. There is no rhyme or reason to what attracts me. I love them. I probably have over a dozen of them sitting on my book shelf waiting to be filled. I have at least 15 that have been filled with all of the little details that make me, me. So why blog? Why turn to the computer instead of the written page? Time mostly. It just seems so much more convenient to sit here and type. Plus, I have this nifty backspace key. I can erase anything I want to. Still I can't be as personal on here as I would in my books. I don't have the satisfaction of completed journals but, I do have an occasional comment from a reader. That thrills me. Fills the need I have always had to be a writer. So there you have it. I blog because I am compelled to. It is my outlet, my record. A connection!

I think that doing a layout about it would make a really great ME page. If I do you can bet I will share it here. On my blog....

Dream Vacation!!!

The Blogger challenge is to write about your dream Summer vacation. I love going to new places. I love the "Road Trip". Plenty of good tunes, some snacks, and the open highway. Since being married my road trip days have become far and few between. A little due to money, lack of time, we now have two kids in carseats. My Taylor is just not the road tip type. When he was 2 months old we traveled from Spokane, WA to Portland, OR. It's a little less then 6 hours. He screamed almost the whole way. I kid you not! My usually quiet little man hates being stuck in his car seat, and isn't afraid to express his disdain in screams.

I love going places on an airplane too. I am always a little envious when we take someone to the airport because they get to go somewhere on a plane. My hubby hates to fly so my airplane days are also far and few between. I would love to be one of those people who jets off somewhere on a whim.

My dream vacation includes a few different places that I would like to see. Europe, I know who doesn't want to see Europe. Besides my husband! LOL! I want to got to Australia. I have had a crush on Australia since I was a teen. Ok yes It did start out as a crush on an Australian but, now it is just the country. Need to go back to Canada and have another look around!
Boston to see the sites and see my sister Teresa! I would definitely throw in someplace tropical because, I have never been and the pictures look amazing. When I was younger I had this picture that I cut out of a magazine. It was this hotel, that was more like bungalows on stilts stretching our into the aquamarine ocean! So fabulous!
For now my Summer vacation will probably take me as far as a local state park for the day.... Something is better then nothing right?!~

Fruit Loops

Riley loves him some sugar cereal! Probably because Mommy never buys it for him. I buy cheerios or Chex but, Daddy bought him some Fruit Loops. He is in love, I am not sure if it's the ultra bright colors, or the uber sweet taste but, he loves them. He is sitting with his bowl going yum, yum, yum, yum, after each bite. Too funny! Of course there is always the possibility that my darling husband bought them for himself (secretly of course). LOL!

Still HOT

It was 102 degrees here yesterday, and I can tell that it's warming up already at 8am. The babies don't do so well in the heat. Riley kept waking up crying. Poor little dude. Although he did enjoy playing in the water at his Grandma's house yesterday~ I'll try to show you a picture later. I don't have them on this computer.

Online Shopping

The Blog challenge today is about online shopping~

This is really interesting for me. If you read my blog then you know that I am trying to start my own business and part of that is my online store www.alwaysscrappin.com . Before I had a store I loved shopping online. I loved surfing around for great deals. Now I realize how hard it is to offer those great deals and still make money. I won't bore you with the details. What is even harder is that people are visiting my site but not buying anything. I am curious as to why this is. Any feedback would be appreciated!
When I was just an online shopper I loved sites like www.concroption.com , and www.twopeasinabucket.com. Such great places to find scrapbook products to feed my *ahem* addiction as my husband calls it. He really might not be far off from the truth!~
In other news, it was 101 degrees here yesterday. Too dang HOT to get much of anything done. I was way cranky, and I don't like being that way! KWIM? I couldn't believe how it affected my little ones. They pretty much just wanted to sleep. We stayed indoors most of the day, and forced the fluids into them. The last thing I needed was for Riley to get Sun stroke again! No Way! I learned my lesson on parade day!

Advil... The headache medicine!

So you know those guys in high school that everyone wants to hang out with? And that party that everyone wants to be at but, only the cool kids attend? I was at that party last night, with those same guys. The big difference is that I am 25 now and they really aren't as cool as they were back then. Well, that and I am no longer the wallflower that I was. And apparently I am not a drinker because two margaritas and I feel it this morning. I don't know if that is really, really sad or a good thing? To tell you the truth it was pretty damn funny watching the guys play drunk croquet in the dark. My husband was the only sober one playing (he doesn't drink). I tried to take pictures but my battery died on my digi. DANG! Oh, well I would say better luck next time but, I kinda hope there isn't a next time. I am just not meant for the sauce~

I went to my Stampin Up party and it was so much fun! We made two really cute cards and I ordered two retiring stamp sets. There are so many that I wanted but, I have to be good. Especially right now with Andy not working. I will show you pics of them when I get them. Should be 10 days or so she said.

It's gonna be like 100 degrees here today. Soooo dang HOT! I just want to take a nap... Coffee calls me~

Some like it hot!

I got up early this morning and opened up the house. Trying to let some of the cool morning air in. It is going to be HOT today. I don't normally like the heat. I love to be warm in the Winter (hate to be cold actually) but, not to crazy about the heat.
I have a Stampin' Up party to go to this morning. I am looking forward to it. Love stamps! Hopefully I will be able to buy something yummy. I know I probably shouldn't be buying product from a company other then mine but, have you seen there product? http://www.stampinup.com . A scrapbookers dream! I bought one set of stamps that last time I was there and I have already used them to make a dozen or so cards. Very much worth the $$$$$.
I need to go make the pasta salad for my sister's BBQ. It's one of those recipes that I make for almost every large gathering. People gobble it down! It's usually better if you make it the night before, but I fell asleep.

Italian Pasta Salad

2 packages Rainbow Rotini

2 Bottle Bernsteins Italian dressing

1 Bag Italian Cheese

1 Can olives (quartered)

Salt & Pepper

Olive Oil

Cook the pasta

coat in olive oil

Salt & Pepper to taste

Let cool

When Cool, Add 1 bottle Dressing, olives, & Cheese

Cover and let sit overnight in refridgerator

Before you serve it Pour additional dressing as needed.

Toss and Serve!

This makes a ton, so if you aren't planning on feeding a small army you might want to scale it down a bit. Also, I have made it the same day before, just allow enough time for it to cool properly!

So Riley and I are sitting on the couch eating cheese & garlic croutons for breakfast. That's kinds of like eating cereal right? Uhhh, I think maybe we need to go grocery shopping today. He thinks it's great. He has crumbs all over his little face. He keeps saying "Mow, mow! That's more in Riley speak.

In other news.... I have noticed that when my husband and son play they think that the grossest things are really funny. It must be a boy thing because I didn't teach our 19 month old that noisy bodily functions are hilarious. They just laugh and laugh at each other. I will look at the bright side. At least they are spending time together... Yeah, that's my story and I'm stickin' to it! LOL!

Sore Head, Throat Ache

I am hoping that this is just allergies. As if anyone wishes for allergies. Although it could be the June curse. Every year since I was 16 I have gotten a cold in June. Perhaps my body doesn't react well to the sudden rise in temperature. I just don't know. I had thought that I was gonna make it through this June but, my sore throat and raging headache suggest otherwise. I need a nap. Now if only the kids would cooperate!

Good Coffee, Strong Coffee

I have been up since 4somethingAM. The baby woke up and wanted to play. If you could see his cute little smile you probably would have gotten up to. I have been busy. Too busy to blog. Some days almost to busy to check my email. If you know me, this is huge. Too busy to check her email. It's a tragedy really. It has made me feel disconnected a little. However we did get to have a fabulous weekend. Saturday we went to the Rose Festival Parade. Very fun. I must admit that although I have live here my entire life and Rose Festival is a staple for this city, I have never been to the parade.*GASP*. I know, I have no good excuse. I will share a few pics with you. My DH Andy wearing a fabulous paper parade hat!!!

The marching bands were pretty good! It was fun to see everyone marching together. Felt a little sorry for them because it was pretty warm. That's our fabulous friend Kim in the lower right. We love you KIM!

After the parade we went to my friend Angela's wedding. I had a really good time! I would love to share pictures with you but, husband has hid them somewhere and I can not get to them. I will share more fabulous weekend photos with you later.

Business

I have been working online most of the night. Working on getting my business off of the ground. At least my website is mostly functional. All that's missing is the ability to take credit cards, instead of just pay pal. It's a lot of work, but that's what it's all about right. Oh, and I figured out how to add a link to my website on my side bar. Love it when I figure out something for myself. KWIM?

Mindless Mumbo Jumbo

It's Friday! Hubby is watching Regis & Kelly. We don't have cable and I think he's starting to get board. Stir crazy is more like it. He is driving himself crazy and well I was probably already there. LOL! This darn laptop (grateful as I am for it) is having major issues. Now when you plug it into the wall you have about a 20% chance of it realizing it. Very irritating. Still working on the wedding album for my friend. Slowly but, surely. I think maybe I am just being to picky, trying to make everything to perfect. In reality I am probably the only one who will notice the difference. This will probably have to be it for now. I never know when the battery is going to die. Have a great weekend all!

Things to do at 4AM...

So my favorite things to do at 4 am is sleep. However, I have a 1 year old who has different ideas. Thus, I am awake. I really can't say what his deal is but, does not want to sleep. I have a feeling that this is going to be a VERY long day KWIM???? Hmm, maybe I'll go make pancakes for breakfast, I mean who says that no sleep has to be accompanied by hunger???
